East Indian - 20 Teabags in Signature Tea Tin

Description:  A brisk and malty black tea. In the years leading up to the American Revolution, Charleston became the site of repeated resistance to taxed tea. On December 3, 1773, the ship London arrived in Charles Town Harbor carrying 257 chests of East India Company tea. Refusing to accept it under the Tea Act, Charlestonians left the cargo unclaimed until it was seized and stored in the Exchange Building in what is now known as the Charleston Tea Party.

Resistance continued in the months that followed. In November 1774, the ship Britannia arrived with seven chests of East India tea, which local merchants were induced to destroy, reportedly breaking open the chests and casting their contents into the Cooper River. Together, these events reflect Charleston’s sustained and deliberate stand against the Tea Act.

Ingredients: Assam Black Tea, Orange Pekoe

Size/Type:  20 Pyramid style teabags sealed in matte black signature tea tin.
*Teabag material is a non-GMO, all natural (no glue or plastics), plant-based product that is fully biodegradable.

Shelf Life: 3 Years
