Darren was born and raised in Smithfield, Maine. Darren spent over 28 years in the Air Force where he had the opportunity to travel the world and experience many different tea and coffee cultures. He and his family settled in Charleston and he is enjoying sharing the story of Early American Beverages!

In the Lowcountry
The thick strong branches of 500-year old live oaks dip low to touch the saltwater marsh, as if parched for thirst. This is the Lowcountry, a string of sun-drenched sea islands along the coast of South Carolina and Georgia, a land of colonial history, humid air, spanish moss, old architecture with large breezy porches, and of course, iced tea.
